Decision on Slow Streets on March 20

The City Council will make its final decision on the pilot program, as well as consider ways to expand it. If you want to have safe places to walk and bike in South Pasadena, then you need to speak up NOW. Please take a moment to tell the city to “Save Our Slow Streets” by sending a public comment email (please customize and add your name). You can also sign our petition or show up in person! The Council will meet Wednesday, March 20th at 7pm and agenda item 17 is the last item.

Parks and Ride on March 16

Join us, South Pasadena Beautiful, Friends of the South Pasadena Nature Park, and The Hive as we celebrate our city's natural treasures.

This community ride will connect Garfield park to the Arroyo Seco Nature Park. The event will finish with a picnic and nature-based crafting activities at Garfield park. We'll start the ride at 9am on Saturday, March 16th. Click on the image to RSVP and learn more.

Support Slow Streets at MTIC

The Mobility and Transportation Infrastructure Commission will make a recommendation on the Slow Streets on Tuesday, Dec 19 at 6:30pm. Email comments of support to mticpubliccomments@southpasadenaca.gov and join us in person!

Our petition has collected 174 signatures, including 123 residents and 44 people near the pilot installations. This is huge support for a small town like South Pas! But influential voices are opposed to these changes.

These changes are needed to keep us safe, and support a healthier, more sustainable way of life. The city will not continue them unless you demand it. See the MTIC meeting agenda for details.

Historic Walking Tour

SPAS and the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation have partnered up to offer a docent-led walking tour of our historic Mission Street. RSVP is required and we have reached our capacity limit. Please contact us if you are interested in a future walking tour.

Creative Crosswalks as Public Art

Support Slow Streets

Comment on General Plan

Our city has developed a draft General Plan. SPAS leadership read the Plan and noted recommendations related to our mission at https://docs.google.com/document/d/12nvo1dDKYMNd6thqnimNovkHtauy4J6HV5NX9gbhkW4/edit?usp=sharing. We ask members to support these goals by sending a comment to cdd@southpasadenaca.gov.
