South Pas Active Streets

Advocating for cyclists, pedestrians, and a more sustainable future.

South Pas Active Streets is a community organization working to strengthen our city by improving walkability and bikeability. Active transportation improves quality of life, contributes to our small town appeal, and is a core pillar of our city’s climate action plan. However, not all areas of South Pasadena are accessible by walking or riding a bike, as city design too often prioritizes driving speed over safety. We believe that every part of the city should be safe and accessible to people of all ages and abilities, and we aim to achieve that goal through community programs and advocacy.

Historic Walking Tour

SPAS and the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation have partnered up to offer a docent-led walking tour of our historic Mission Street. RSVP is required and we have reached our capacity limit. Please contact us if you are interested in a future walking tour.

Save Our Slow Streets!

The city will consider the Slow Street Pilot program in December. Please sign this petition to tell the city that changes like curb extensions and bike lanes are needed to keep us safe, and support a healthier, more sustainable way of life.

Bike Bus Tuesdays

Join us for fresh air, happy kids, and a safe ride to school with our now-weekly Bike Bus. Rides start at 7:55 each Tuesday to Arroyo Vista and Marengo Elementary.
